A student-run case analysis project

Learning to think through real-world cases.

Casework is where Duygu and Esra Şevval publish the analysis they do during a six-month professional mentorship at the Law Office of Beril Dogan Berk, an immigration law firm. Every case here is hypothetical or fully anonymized.

What this project is

Casework is built around one idea: good professional judgment comes from a repeatable method. Read the facts, find the rules, research, reason, and explain your conclusion clearly. The mentorship uses immigration law as the subject, but the method carries over to business, healthcare, education, and any field that works from cases.

Method

Structured analysis

Apply a framework to a set of facts and explain the reasoning step by step.

Practice

Research and writing

Use public sources, cite them, and write short memos a reader can act on.

Conduct

Ethics and confidentiality

Protect client information and keep every example hypothetical or anonymized.

Reach

Cross-cultural competence

See how rules and expectations change across countries and languages.
